The creation of this group is part of a comprehensive strategy, branded as Tokio ESG, and aligned with Tokio Marine’s purpose to contribute to building a fairer, more transparent society that uses natural resources responsibly.

Tokio Marine Seguradora S.A. is a subsidiary of the Tokio Marine Group, a Japanese insurance conglomerate founded in Tokyo in 1879 and one of the largest in the world, now present in more than 45 countries.
The Group maintains its long history of commitment to the well-being of its insured clients, such as when it supported them during the 1923 Kanto earthquake in Japan, even without coverage guarantees. It was also part of history during the tragic 2011 tsunami, assisting over 150,000 insured clients.
This reflects the essence of the Good Company philosophy, the Tokio Marine Group’s global guideline based on three pillars: Looking Beyond Profit, Empowering Employees, and Fulfilling Commitments to Society. For Tokio Marine Group, the essence of the insurance industry is to support those who suffer a loss. While emotional damage cannot be repaired in claims, it is crucial to care for those affected, enable financial reconstruction in impacted areas, and help maintain economic activity. Good results are a natural consequence of being a “Good Company.”
The company arrived in Brazil in 1959 and is today one of the country’s leading insurers, offering more than 90 products and over 120 services for individuals and businesses through a network of 68 business units and branches across Brazil.
OUR COMMITMENT
TO THE CLIMATE AGENDA
Tokio Marine supports the development of products that promote the energy transition and adopts a restrictive stance towards projects with negative social and environmental impacts. In 2022, the company launched an exclusive product for clean energy projects in Brazil, combining three types of insurance into a single policy: Engineering Risk, Construction Liability, and Named/Operational Risks, offering protection for all phases of wind and photovoltaic projects, from installation through the first year of operation.
The company also offers coverage and services aimed at reducing environmental impacts, such as specific coverage for hybrid and electric vehicles and digital pre-inspections for auto insurance; coverage for solar panels available in Home, Condominium, and Property insurance; and a set of services included in the VIP Assistance plan for Home Insurance and Rent Guarantee Insurance, among other solutions. These services include actions focused on reducing environmental impact, such as proper disposal of furniture and equipment and providing dumpsters for debris.
Tokio Marine also prioritizes excellence in customer service and speeding up claims payments. In 2024, the insurer reduced the average time to settle claims arising from extreme weather events by 30% compared to the previous year.
